You know those old playing cards you’ve had since 2004? The ones missing a six of hearts and probably sticky from a Diet Coke spill during girls’ night?
Don’t toss ’em.
We’re about to turn that crusty deck into something beautiful, meaningful, and—dare I say it?—magical.
Welcome to your next DIY project: Affirmation Cards.Easy to make, impossible not to love, and guaranteed to look way cuter than whatever’s in your junk drawer right now.
What You’ll Need (aka: A Reason to Finally Use That Washi Tape You Keep Hoarding)
1 deck of playing cards (any kind works!)
Acrylic paint, scrapbook paper, or gesso
Glue stick or Mod Podge
Scissors
Pens or markers
Optional: stickers, washi tape, stamps, stencils, tea and a good playlist 😊
🪄 Step-by-Step Tutorial
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
Clear a spot on the table. Make some tea. Put on music you’d paint your kitchen to. Then lay everything out so it feels like you’re on a Pinterest board.

Step 2: Decorate Those Babies
If your cards are glossy, give them a little sandpaper massage or slap on a layer of paint. Then: GO. TO. TOWN.Paint, glue, scribble, layer, collage. No rules. Just vibes.

Step 3: Add Affirmations
Now for the heart of the project: words that make you feel like the goddess you are.You can print the list below, write them by hand, or channel your inner poet and make your own. Bonus if you do it while wearing fuzzy socks and whispering “I am enough” at your scissors.

Step 4: Seal the Deal
If you want your cards to last longer than your last gym habit, seal them with Mod Podge or clear glue. Let them dry, then shuffle, draw, display, or gift.

💬 30 Affirmations for you to use
Here are some uplifting, creativity-centered affirmations you can use on your cards:

I don’t have to be perfect to be powerful.

I am not behind—I'm exactly where I need to be.
Messy is still magical.

My presence matters.
I choose progress over perfection.
I bring beauty into the world.
It’s okay to start small.
I am growing in the right direction.
My heart knows what it needs.
I am enough as I am.
