Wine and Unwind Wednesday...More Likd Whine and Unraveled

Last night was supposed to be magical.
Cue the whimsical music.
I had my crushed glass. I had my resin. I had a dragonfly design that was going to sparkle like a disco ball in a sunbeam.
And I had Wine and Unwind Wednesday—the very first in a new live series that was going to be the next big thing. Or at least, you know, a thing.
Instead… what unfolded was a masterclass in chaos.
The Setup
I logged into Streamyard, the platform that allegedly helps you go live on multiple platforms at once. It took one look at my poor 2013 MacBook and said, “Absolutely not.” It glitched. It lagged. It gaslit me. My laptop—God bless its elderly circuits—went from fully charged to completely dead in 12 minutes flat. The only thing streaming was my tears.
Take Two: The Phone
I pivoted like a champ. Moved over to Facebook Live on my phone. I had this. I was a phoenix rising from the ashes.
Except…
I forgot the black crushed glass.
I forgot the liner.
Then when I found the liner, it wouldn’t separate from the backing like it was glued on by Satan himself.
I wrestled with that thing like it owed me money.
The Plot Twist
Just as I was getting into a rhythm, 15 minutes in, my phone rang.
It was my brother. And I had to answer, because my dad is in the hospital (he’s doing okay, but obviously he’s the priority). So the live cut off. Mid-sentence. Mid-resin pour. Mid–my sanity.
The Aftermath
At that point, I did what any reasonable adult would do:
I gave up.
I called my brother, took a breath, finished the project off-camera, and poured myself an actual glass of wine.
Because somebody was going to unwind, even if it wasn’t the audience.
What’s Next
I’ll post photos of the finished project soon, and I promise—next week’s Wine and Unwind will be better. New laptop is on the horizon. YouTube verification is allegedly “pending.” And I will triple-check my supplies. Probably.
Until then, may your resin cure perfectly, may your tech cooperate, and may your liner actually come off the backing without a fight.
Cheers to trying again,
Lori
